For those of you who are photographers, why is it there are so few blog posts of senior boys getting their senior pictures done? When I was first learning how to be a portrait photographer, I did a search on senior photography and was just amazed and a little mystified (and disappointed) why there are hundreds of blog posts/example pictures of senior girls put out by all levels of photographers but hardly ANY of the poor, left-out guys. Do guys just not get senior pictures done as often as girls? Probably I am taking this too far…haha! Obviously the guys don’t care. There is no hue and cry from that quarter over the injustice of it all! You just mention the word camera to them and they are off and running as fast and as far away as their worn out gym shoes will take them! Now girls on the other hand…
Don’t get me wrong, I love my senior girl sessions, all the prom dresses, curly hair, and cute shoes. I dig all the girly girl stuff. But, I have to say, I really enjoy senior boy sessions too because there is not quite so much obsession about hair, clothes, posing, etc. I have never had a guy ask me yet if he looked fat! (tee hee) Guys just kind of stand there, slightly bored, tolerant, and exuding all that easy-going boy charm that makes the ladies sigh! Maybe because I have three boys of my own I really love it when I see pictures of boys, big and little. Girls in tutu’s are cute, no doubt about it, but my heart melts when I see wee little men in overalls!
Such a fun photoshoot tonight with this senior boy. I am going to have to hire him to entertain me with his guitar while I am out on sessions. Yes, I could get used to hearing beautiful guitar music played during these golden, gorgeous autumn evenings such as we’ve had lately. Especially during the senior girl sessions…don’t you think the girls would swoon to see this handsome young man walk up with his guitar!!! So come on ladies, let’s hear it for the boys!!!

What a fantastic capture! Really well done!
Well done with the light and also with the mood. Love it!
I bet that was a fun session!
I love the lighting in this picture and how he is relaxed playing his guitar.
I agree with you on all the girl senior pictures out there. I take pictures as a hobby so when my nephew asked if I could take his senior pictures I was scouring the web looking for some examples of boy shoots so I could start training my brain to think that way. Well it took me a long time before I found some boy shots.
BEAUTIFUL shot- Just adore the way this takes me to a relaxing place.
This is fantastic! You’ve definitely done this young man justice. I hope there are lots more from that shoot!
I’ve picked your photo out of all of the ones from “Life with Kaishon” twice now. Clearly I like your style. I love the boy photos as well. (I am also from Laramie orginally.)
Great shot! I agree, we need to celebrate senior boys more!
This is just one fabulous photo, as always!! I can almost hear him playing……
