This week our theme is “wide.” So since I don’t use my widest focal length very often, I thought I would give it a shot! So here goes:
This first image was photographed with a 24 mm focal length. Notice the difference between this photo and the next.

This second photo was shot with an 85 mm focal length. Note: All my settings were the same including my proximity to the subject. The only thing that changed was my focal length. The first image shows some distortion whereas the 85 mm image is significantly improved.
Wide angle lens’ are useful for times when you are shooting in very tight spaces and can provide some interesting and fun distorting effects.

These next images were shot with an 85. Not wide angle so I am getting off my theme a bit here but couldn’t stop myself. This third photo with the close-up of the baby chicks is funny to me because the right chick, if you can tell, has been plucked and de-feathered compared to the left. This is the handy work of my babyzilla. The fat, roly-poly, hazel-eyed darling that terrorizes our prized possessions with charming and relentless energy. You have to be one tough chick to make it around here folks!!
As you can tell, I am a touch wistful for Spring. It will be at least a couple months before we see even a small hint of spring weather but hey, one can always dream!! Have a wonderful Friday!!
Love your work, Tessa. Would love to see you in action. Will get this posted just as soon as I figure out the complete process!
